I find that it holds up better against the ferrets, as well it won't stretch over time. I have a bin of old stretch fabric that I thought I could use for the outside provided the inside fabric has no stretch. I have a cat that loves to burrow, and I think he would like something like this much better than the traditional cat beds. Since I only just got a sewing machine and have never used one, this might be a bit out of my league, but I'd love to try something similar!
